UPS Canada Negotiations Update #6 (Strike Vote Results)

September 11, 2020

Sisters, brothers,

UPS Canada workers from coast to coast to coast have voted 97.1% in favour of strike action.

A work stoppage would remain our last resort after exhausting all possible alternatives. That said, this result shows the company you are serious and gives your bargaining committee the mandate it needs to negotiate the best possible contract.

As you know from our previous update, we are meeting with the company September 13 through September 20 in Toronto. We hope they will have fully taken stock of our solidarity and resolve.

Future updates will continue to be posted in the workplace and on over the coming weeks. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your local union.

Thank you to all who voted and participated in the most important aspect of your work life.

In solidarity,

Richard Eichel, Director, Parcel Division, Teamsters Canada
François Laporte, President, Teamsters Canada
